Good Omens

TV Show

Martin Sheen and David Tennant come together as an angel and demon who are friends that decide to stop Armageddon. The story involves kids and dogs and Jon Hamm... This is very much a comedy but also super indicative of what more and more people are starting to think. It talks a lot about why God needs another war to defeat Satan. Why do humans need to be collateral damage to a war between angels and demons? I don't believe that there will be a real Armageddon, so it was easy for me to take this as a joke but the bible gets very dark when describing the end of days.

I have the same issue with this as I do with Supernatural, that angels are the opposite of demons and therefore can be mean and vindictive. In my opinion, angels are people who have already lived and died. I guess I think of angels the way most people think of ghosts. That they aren't just living among us as real people, but they come and go when we need them. This story has angels who's job it is to guard things on earth, Aziraphale (Sheen) has been on earth since the Garden of Eden! In fact there is a running joke about a flaming sword. Now the demons make sense because they don't get human bodies. Crawly was supposed to go around the earth "causing trouble" for humans and trying to get them to give their souls to Satan. But Crawly liked the humans and didn't want to bother them. He just wanted to chill and live his life. Also he was friends with and angel and didn't want to lose that.

So in conclusion, this is an obviously biblical storyline here so some will see this as sacrilegious... But it is funny and only 6 episodes long. I don't think it falls under anti-religious sentiment though it spoofs the bible... It's funny and you should watch it.
