Stranger Things

Netflix TV show There are 3 seasons of this show and there is for sure a season 4 announced. But I'm going to write about it now because I don't even think season 4 is written yet. This show came out of nowhere! Even the writers and producers didn't think it would be as popular as it was. The first season follows 4 nerdy boys on an adventure when one of them goes missing in what they call the Upside Down. It has kind of a Dungeons and Dragons storyline to it. Like in a way D&D comes alive. It's a cool way to tell a story, Jumanji style. The second season they fight against a laboratory that was trying to do something nefarious, I don't really know how to describe what they were doing though. I guess they were trying to reopen the Upside Down, but I'm sure it was much more complicated than that. There is also more of a romantic element and more dynamic characters. The third season was full of teenage romance and fireworks. The fun thing about this show

Something different. Kind of a hobbies post.

I am trying to be more spiritual. Not really religious, I'm trying to be less religious because I'm starting to see it as rigid. I like the thought of being a believer without being a follower. But anyway, this isn't about my current or past views on religion. But to be honest and transparent I will say, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka LDS or Mormon.) So while on this journey I'm collecting crystals and other ways to heal energy. I've started journaling more and meditating, and even taking baths more. My good friend gave me a few bath bombs that were supposed to help certain chakras that are blocked. My Heart, Third Eye, Sacral, Throat, Crown, and Solar Plexus chakras were all blocked! That is every chakra other than my Root Chakra! So I started with my Sacral Chakra because that part of my physical body is also blocked. There are many emotional blocks too but the physical was easy to read. I also got a foot zone from a

Root of Evil

Podcast This is a podcast following the family of one of the suspects in the Black Dahlia case from the 40s. Dr. George Hodel was a doctor in LA at the time at as we found out many years later had some weird tendencies. This podcast was done by his great-granddaughters that he probably didn't even know existed. Rumor has it that his daughter (Tamar) became pregnant by him at 14, she gave the daughter (Fauna) up for adoption to a black family in Nevada because she wanted the baby to be raised black. The baby was white with blonde hair and had no black genes at all. Eventually the Fauna left her adopted family and went on a search to find her real family, but there wasn't much of a family left. This is the story about how messed up George and his family were. The girls had all of their kids by different dads and there was sexual abuse through the generations. The doctor seems to be the root of this perversion but the family kept the it all going. It's a tragic story but

Swipped

Movie- Netflix This is another Noah Centineo Netflix special, but this one is way better than the last few. He plays a college freshman, so he's able to play it more as the cool guy. And he does play the epic college freshman who is just in school to hook up with girls. He has his posse that are so unattractive that they make him look even better. The premise of this show is that women are used as sexual property and they need to break those stereotypes instead of living up to them just to get attention. It was not a good movie, Noah was the only kinda known person in the show. It was cheezy and I didn't like it. Although I'm in a British show kind of phase and that doesn't help. I guess if you use dating apps this show could be funny, but I never met anyone from tinder. I did have tinder but I mostly just talked to everyone on it. I didn't meet and I didn't take it seriously. I regret watching the show though.

Avengers Phase 3 Part 2

Movies Black Panther was too big of a movie. I didn't see it in the theatre but everyone was obsessed with it and I thought it would have been better. I understood the whole movie, it followed how we thought the storyline should go. I did like the characters. T'Chala was great, his sister was fun, his mom was Angela Bassett. You had Martin Freeman (Bilbo) and Andy Serkis (Gollum). You had Michael B. Jordan looking the biggest he's ever looked and Sterling K. Brown showing his Oakland (where I was born) style and Forrest Whitaker being old and wise. And Lupita and Danai were perfect in their roles. I loved that Michon (Danai's character from Walking dead) had her sword still. The movie was good, great even but not the amazing work of art that people made it seem. Avengers: Infinity War was a hard Avengers movie to watch because it has a lot of destruction and sadness. But you know me, I watch for the characters. Thor and well Bruce and then go find other new frie

Always Be My Maybe

Movie- Netflix Ali Wong is hilarious and Randall Park seems to be too. I haven't really watched him in a starring role before. He was funny in Antman... But they also vibed off each other so good! It was such a funny movie! Also Keanu Reeves made the ultimate cameo. He was perfect! The story is about a couple of kids who become best friends as children and stay that way through high school but then one day something happens that changes everything and they slowly drift away. We meet them later as adults and see them reconnect and see if they can be friends again. It's a different kind of girly rom/com but I absolutely loved it. Also there is a high school inspired band that sticks together long after high school. I imagine that they really did have a great following in their corner of the world, because they are catchy and different. I would totally listen to them in real life. So moral of the story is that this movie is hilarious and you should watch it.

Murder Mystery

Netflix movie Adam Sandler is alright but he's so good at making friends! Jennifer Aniston is fantastic and a crazy good actor. This movie was so fun! I loved their characters and I actually related to this story a little too. I don't really think that I would be like they are in this situation... But in my mind, while I'm sitting at my desk where I sit everyday, I think that is what I would do. I listen to all the podcasts, watch all the movies and tv shows, and read all the books about murder. I would like to think I would solve one if I had to. But I probably wouldn't... Luke Evans is the other fun name in this movie. I don't think any of Adam's normal friends are in it though. I didn't think about it at the time... but that is a little weird. Luke Evans also looks pretty old in this movie. Even my husband noticed. This movie was Adam Sandler cheesy but still so funny. I loved it and I would probably watch it again.

Gladiator

Podcast This is about Aaron Hernandez and therefore about football and the NFL's response to concussions. I heard an interview from Terry Crews a prior NFL player, where he called the NFL a cult of masculinity. I like that they liken it to being old school gladiators. It seems like they do have that kind of mentality; where they have to be the biggest, strongest, most ruthless athlete on the field. Injuries are seen as weakness and it causes people to play injured and make it worse. I don't like these kind of stories though. I have not watched concussion because it just makes me nervous. I have had eight totally minor concussions... But after the first one or two they come more often. I got my first 3 playing high school soccer, I blame them for not feeling successful in college... But now they come every time I even shake my head it seems. I mean, I've gotten one from watching basketball! Yeah WATCHING, sitting on the stage at a church and watching probably a game of L

Avengers Phase 3 Part 1

2016- 2017 Captain America: Civil War was probably my favorite movie to date because there is so many extra people in it. You have most of the actual Avengers minus Thor but then they bring all their new friends and yes it's a battle and they are fighting each other, it's so much fun for everyone to talk to each other and vibe off each other. I love it so much! I do hate all of the government involvement, but we get to meet Spider-man and Black Panther! And Scarlet Witch, Vision, Ant-man, and The Winter Soldier all become Avengers. I think it's a fun movie, even with all the turmoil. Doctor Strange is Benedict Cumberbatch and Marvel so everyone was obsessed with it. I am not against Benedict, but he's not the ultimate for me. I would watch this movie more it Rachel McAdams was in it more. I love her and I love the villain in this movie. Mads Mikkelson is a bad-ass and such a great actor. The story is literally strange though. In my opinion, the story is incred
