Jumanji

Movie I loved the original movie but this is totally different so it is ok to like both. There were a lot of clever jokes and some that are pretty dumb but I really liked the movie. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black work really good together, and Karen Gillan is fantastic in her role. I find it very funny that the video game versions of the kids are all super famous but the actual kids are people that I've never seen before. Also I had no idea that Nick Jonas was in the movie. 4 kids that don't get along in real life come together in a video game that could potentially kill them. They bond, they grow and they learn from this land of danger and become better people for it. The villain is creepy too! Now I know a lot of us aren't excited about the revamp of all these older shows and I wasn't excited either. I also don't love all of DJ's movies so the fact that he was starring in it wasn't a big deal to me, so you can believe me when I say that t

Mandy

Book This was a free book on iBooks but it was my name so I had to read it. Its old English and takes place sometime around 1800. There were a lot of words that I didn't even know were words... but the main person was Mandy! Its about a murder too, which is something that I watch and listen to a lot of. Two 20 year old's get wrapped up trying to find their cousin's killer when the wrong person is accused and arrested. There is suspense, romance, and adventure, but there are better books to read. This book was very easy to predict even though they try to throw curves. In conclusion its a very simple book to read, but nothing special.

Love Life

Book Rob Lowe did as good in his 2nd book as he did in he first. This book is more about becoming who he is now through being a husband and father. In Stories I Tell My Friends he told stories about his upbringing and his rise to fame. They are really good stories and I really do suggest the book to people when they ask for book suggestions. But this book talks about his kids and his relationships with people instead of just name dropping (I love his name dropping.) Rob Lowe went to rehab when he was 26. He had just started dating his now wife and gives her credit for completely changing the trajectory of his life. He's been sober ever since (with the exception of 1 little moment that he talks about in this book.) His sons just make it easier to stick to sobriety and are his best friends now. He tells this story about taking his son to college and Matthew invited him to a party with all his friends! How cute is that! I really admire Rob Lowe for his love of his family and the

Lore

Podcast This is the first thing that I've written about that isn't finished but I caught up and now I'm down to whenever a new episode is released (which is every 2 weeks I think.) I unfortunately don't remember most of the stories he's talked about which is unfortunate because he studies so much! I still learn a lot but most of the stories in each episode don't seem to go together and I get wrapped up in trying to figure out why he's talking about them together. But I love the sound of his voice so much! He talks about so many things though; ghosts, vampires, elves, zombies and other things like that. Its about mysterious things that shouldn't happen in the world but do. The truth is that every country and every generation has there own lore and the way we can know about each other is to learn about people's beliefs. Aaron Mahnke  also writes books and is 1 season into a TV show. I watched the first 2 episodes but they were a little weird but

Parenthood

TV show I started watching this show because Lauren Graham (Sarah Braverman) is probably my favorite person on TV ever. She plays mom so good! I'll write about Gilmore Girls some time soon, and about her books but I have only read one of them so far. But with her you have so many fantastic personalities. Monica Potter (Christina Braverman) is in one of my favorite movies that no one has ever heard of Head over Heels. Peter Krause (Adam Braverman) has been in a lot of TV shows in his life and he always does amazing too. Dax Shepard (Crosby Braverman) is hilarious and I have started listening to his podcast now too. Craig T. Nelson (Zeek Braverman) is an icon! Not only is he Mr. Incredible, Coach and Ryan Reynolds's dad; he's also been working since the early 70s. I'm not going to lie though Erika Christensen (Julia Braverman) freaked me out in Swimfan so I was a little nervous about her but I liked her in this. I love Camila Braverman but I have never seen her in anyth

Thor Ragnarok

Movie This is the 3rd of the Thor franchise and I think the 100th of the Avengers franchise. I want to say that it is a different director than normal but I don't know for sure. I've never heard of him before and he's been around for a long time. Anyway, he is so good! This movie was so funny and Jeff Goldblum was as funny as ever. I feel like is in so many classic movies that having him in this one made it sound better. I've heard ever since the movie came out that Chris and Mark's dynamic was excellent and I was excited to see it. They were all right! I love them both individually but I love them together so much! Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, and Cate Blanchett were all perfect additions to the usual fun cast. Chris and Tom are always great and Idris can do no wrong in my mind and everyone just worked so well together. I am a very big fan of the Avengers because as I have mentioned before I love groups. The Avengers is what I feel like my friends would be if

Pitch Perfect 3

Movie The Bella's have become Iconic for being a group of girls that we all want to be. The first movie was about bringing a group of nobodies together to try to make them somebodies. They beat the boys for and won the contest. The second movie was about them finding their voice again and also winning the contest. This third movie is really more about them being able to say goodbye and leave "the best time of their lives" to move forward into better things. The first movie is 100% the best and like most trilogies, the second is dumb. The third though is dumb in the best way! Caleb and I were laughing the whole time! The production is better but the story line is stupid. I'm going to tell you straight up that the story line would never in a billion years happen, but that doesn't make it any less any entertaining does it? The music is fun and very well done and the guys are hot, and yes there is another contest. I recommend this movie for a laugh but you will t

Business Wars / Adidas vs Nike

Podcast Adidas started  in 1924 in pre WWII Germany and made the first rubber soled shoe. His first big endorsement was African American track star Jesse Owens during the Olympics in Germany which as you can imagine was bound to be controversial but the shoes spoke for themselves. It was new technology that would change the game forever. And even though Nike didn't start until the 60s it didn't take long became Adidas biggest competitor ever! As an athlete this was cool to hear about because I've worn a lot of athletic shoes both Nike and Adidas and Reebok after they were owned by Adidas and Puma (which it turns out was created by the brother of Adi Das and who was the co-creator of Adidas.) The end of the series they talk to someone that worked at Nike in the beginning and they thought that they were behind Adidas but I never saw that side. Growing up Nike was the ultimate status symbol but it sounds like they had to go through a lot to stay there. So yes I have alwa

Business Wars / Blockbuster vs Netflix

Podcast Blockbuster was the best at what they did. They were the best way to rent videos which was the best thing to do as a kid. We had Hollywood Video in my neighborhood but still Blockbuster was cooler. I want to say that Blockbuster was the first to rent video games, but that could just be a wrong memory. But then Netflix came, and it was on the computer. You signed up online and made a list and they would send you DVDs from the list one after the other. It was easier and more convenient. Just that had most of the video rental stores closing their doors, and then the streaming changed life even more and even though Blockbuster tried to create their own streaming system website, it wasn't life changing. This podcast is about the battle between the 2 companies. It involved corporate espionage; lying to bosses, copying websites, and spying in warehouses! I don't think that I'm spoiling anything to say that Blockbuster ultimately lost the war... But that wasn't
