A Simple Favor

Movie This movie came out about a year ago but as you guys know, I don't go to the movies. So I finally watched this movie because it is on Hulu now. But Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick! Together! I was so excited, all I really knew about the movie is that Blake goes missing and Anna is left looking for her. What I didn't know is that Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) and Linda Cardellini (ER) are also in it and I love them too. Blake played a very off-putting character... Like she's supposed to be this really fierce city-business woman but she came off really mean and anti-social. Anna Kendrick also played a different character. She seemed very innocent and naïve but also Anna so quirky. There were a lot of surprises in this show. When the movie started it seemed pretty straight forward a easy murder mystery. But it really wasn't! There was so many smaller details that made this a totally different/ unexpected story. I can't describe it without giving the s

Wildfire

TV show This is a blast from my past, it started in 2005 and went 4 seasons. It was on the CW, now Freeform and that is where I watched the most TV. I was just looking for things to watch with my husband who is very picky. I saw Wildfire and remembered how much I liked it so I added it to my list to watch later. I did watch it later and it was as good as I remembered! Typical of shows that happened in these years, I missed many episodes and somehow didn't even finish the show... And I used to think that Junior was so hot! But this time Ryan Sypek wasn't my style, he was too clean, almost boring. But that didn't stop me from wanting him to end up with Genevieve Cortese's character Kris. This show was the perfect love triangle! Between the teenagers/young adult love lives and the mom and her love life there is a lot of complicated stories. On top of all the fantastic family, competition, and love drama there is also horses. I love horses and I loved to watch this sho

Fall TV

I'm sorry guys, I've been trying to get something ready to write about but it is fall and all the shows are back and I am so busy watching all of them. So I guess I will just update y'all on what I'm watching this fall. American Housewife Season 4 The Olivers are the perfect American family and I love them so much. I watch the first 3 seasons in like 3 months, because I love them so much! They are so funny! Grey's Anatomy Season 16 Last season really shook everything up! Now we are watching all of the pieces fall together. The characters are still lovable as they try to find their way out of the drama. A Million Little Things Season 2 I didn't think I would like this show but someone told me to try it so I did. I cry almost every episode! I love the characters and the actors that play them... There is a lot of actors who have been in other great TV shows. Totally worth a watch Single Parents Season 2 Taren Killam, Leighton Meester, and Brad Garrett

Good Omens

TV Show Martin Sheen and David Tennant come together as an angel and demon who are friends that decide to stop Armageddon. The story involves kids and dogs and Jon Hamm... This is very much a comedy but also super indicative of what more and more people are starting to think. It talks a lot about why God needs another war to defeat Satan. Why do humans need to be collateral damage to a war between angels and demons? I don't believe that there will be a real Armageddon, so it was easy for me to take this as a joke but the bible gets very dark when describing the end of days. I have the same issue with this as I do with Supernatural, that angels are the opposite of demons and therefore can be mean and vindictive. In my opinion, angels are people who have already lived and died. I guess I think of angels the way most people think of ghosts. That they aren't just living among us as real people, but they come and go when we need them. This story has angels who's job it is

Rock of Ages

Movie Tom Cruise's best role! This movie starts out with a small town girl moving to LA. Sherry (Julianne Hough) gets unlucky by getting robbed right away but also ends up meeting Drew (Diego Bonita) and getting a job and basically getting everything she ever wanted except fame. But naturally things don't go as planned and about the same time that Drew gets his big break, Sherry meets rock star Stacy Jaxx (Tom Cruise.) What follows is a lot of 1980s Los Angeles stuff. Also this is a musical featuring amazing hair-band from the 80s. We have Guns and Roses, Poison, Def Leppard, Ratt, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, REO, and so many others. So naturally the music is amazing! Also on top of Tom Cruise you have Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin, Malin Ackerman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston, Mary J. Blige as actual stars in the movie and as cameos we have Sabastian Bach, Kevin Cronin, Debbie Gibson, Nuno Bettencourt, Joel Hoekstra, and Constantine Maroulis (Drew

13 Reasons Why

TV Show I questioned writing this because I'm pretty sure the show isn't over yet but I'm so upset with the way that this story is going. The first season was incredible! The story is a high school girl that probably had mental illness that she was battling. She was so good at making friends but eventually her relationships would die because of her reputation and those friends would turn on her and add to her bad reputation when in reality, she was innocent and just trying to be a good friend. She tried so hard to be accepted but in every turn she was alienated. So she killed herself. And instead of leaving a note she recorded herself telling people what they could have done to help her. It was a story that literally describes high school. I didn't go to a school that had "cliques" like a normal school. I went to a racially charged school... The Polynesians hung out with Polynesians, The Central Americans hung out with other Central Americans and South Amer

Princess and the Frog

Movie I didn't see this movie right when it came out because it came out when I was in college and I only watched what was actually on TV. Yeah that was a long time ago. After a little while I started getting movies from Redbox a lot but that was later. I didn't see it until probably 3 years later in fact. But I loved it from first watch! It had everything that Disney princesses need but also has the fun New Orleans vibe that I desperately want to experience in real life. Anika Noni Rose was also in Dreamgirls so you know she's one of my favorite singers. They also got TV royalty Terrance Howard, John Goodman and Oprah! I love Disney anyway but I love that this is the first American princess (at least I think it is...) Also I really appreciated that she and the prince were both supposed to learn. Most Disney movies like this expect the princess to just sit around until the prince comes to find her. It was time for a more accurate view of women. Ne-yo sings a song for it

Over My Dead Body: Tally

Podcast This is a 6episode podcast about a husband and wife that started out to be the seemingly perfect but everything fell apart when they got divorced. Dan Markel was a lawyer in New England when he met his wife Wendi Adelson another lawyer who was working in Miami. There was some friction at the beginning when it seemed that Dan was more traditionally Jewish than his wife and her family. That was just the beginning... After they were married they moved to small town Tallahassee so that Dan could teach at the law school. That left Dan very busy teaching and traveling to give lectures and Wendi at home with the kids. Wendi decided that she didn't want to live that life anymore so she left. What happened after that was pretty typical until it wasn't. They fought like typical lawyers and Dan was able to keep Wendi from taking the kids back to Miami. Until one day Dan was killed in his garage by some thugs from Miami. The bulk of this podcast is about trying to tie the killer

The I-Land

TV Show This is a Netflix show that was suggested to me by Netflix... It looked like a Lost rip-off but it was not! It actually had a big twist that was really interesting. Kate Bosworth and Alex Pettyfer are in it but not necessarily stars which seems kind of weird. The star of the show is Natalie Martinez who I don't know but is apparently in everything that I haven't seen before. She has 30 credits on her IMDB which is kind of a lot and they aren't just single episodes like her partner in the show Ronald Peet who has 22 single episodes. Fun Fact Kate is actually the producer too. I love that so many actors are given these chances now. Kate does play a pretty strong supporting role but Alex is barely in it. Oh Kyle Schmid is in it too. He's from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, he's been around for a little bit. I like him anyway. Anyway like I said it kind of follows the same story line as lost except that there isn't a plane and no proof that anyone is
