Uncover- Escaping NXIVM

Podcast For a while all I knew about this group was that the girls from Smallville were in it. Allison Mack is now awaiting sentencing Kristin Kreuk wasn't in it very long so probably wasn't very involved in the underground stuff. But this story is about Sarah Edmondson and how she got out of what she calls a cult. We find out how she started and why this organization appeals to actors and similar. NXIVM was all about making your own path or role; actors have to find the jobs, the movies, even the fame but all of that is dependant on some luck and timing. So when they hear that they don't have to sit around and wait they jump at the opportunity and trust me, once they start feeling better about themselves and more in control they want to keep feeling that and getting better. That is how cult, religion and causes get followers and it's kind of worked forever. In Utah where I live we have a lot of Multi-level Marketing organizations and that is how Keith Raniere ran NXIV

Bridgerton

Obviously this show has a lot going for it. It's a Shonda Rhimes production for one. Also the stars are very pretty. And I think we all like the thought of the old classic romance. It's Pride and Predjudice, Wuthering Heights, even Phantom of the Opera. A simpler time when dating was a transaction and therefore in a way easier... I think that's why I like it anyway. I'm not for arranged marriages or anything and I'm definitely not into woman being traded like cattle but dating is hard. So the show starts out telling us about this cute family who all get along are all part of society at the same time. But the person who tells the story is a big part of the show. There is a scribe of some sort, who narrates the whole show. Yep just like Gossip Girl! Yes this is Gossip Girl and Pride and Predjudice combined! But the best part is that Julie Andrew's plays the scribe/narrator. See like I said, this show has a lot of great qualities. We start by meeting the social pe

Josie and the Pussycats

Movie I can't believe I didn't watch this movie before. Rachel Leigh Cook is like my hero. But I also did not know that she was Josie. Turns out this is a star studded show! We have Rachel obviously, Tara Reid!, Rosario Dawson!, Parker Posey!, and Alan Cumming! And I personally think this really happens everywhere... Ok this movie is 20 years old so spoilers be damned. This is about a company's goal to advertise via subliminal messaging. They hide the advertisements in popular songs and music and it works very well. Then they find the perfect girl rock group to spread their messages further but after a little bit the company decides that they don't need all the girls they only need one. So they start turning them against each other. It's messy. But also awesome! Yeah this isn't what most would consider a "good" movie but it is so fun. As stated I love all the big characters and the storyline is a bit too real for me, but I am a conspiracy theorist

Summer Night

This is one of those shows that gets a whole bunch of people, some we know some we don't but we watch them all experience one big night. Lana Condor is in this one and I love her so much! Analeigh Tipton is the other big name. But basically you get a bunch of friends together at a big music night in a bar and we see how their night progresses. Many of the guys are in different bands but they are from a pretty small town so they all know each other. There are less girls to follow but most of them seem to be close friends. Oh Victoria Justice is in it too but she's not part of the group. Also this cute blonde girl is kind of in the story but not really part of the group. I don't know, I guess it's a typical friend group where there is inner circle and outer circle. So I'm going to be honest, Lana Condor being super cute in this movie is the best part. I like friendship and I like colaborations like this but the movie itself is terrible. There isn't a storyline in

Vaccination

Well I got the second dose this week on Thursday and I was totally fine the rest of the day. I was feeling great, sure my arm hurt but I could still move it so I was ok. Then I did not sleep that night. I was tossing and turning and kept turning on and off my phone. It was terrible. Then about 9 I woke up so I could wash the dogs and I had a terrible migraine. I took some medicine and drank lots of water because I thought I was just dehydrated. Yep didn't even make the connection... But when I got up and realized that I was nauseous too I realized it was just symptoms of the COVID vaccine. I ordered soup but when it got here I had learned that I wasn't ready to eat yet. So I turned on Thor and sat really still watching it and Eventually fell asleep. When I woke up I started getting texts from friends and one of them had also gotten the vaccine and turns out her and her roommate both had fevers the night before and it was then that I realized I had a fever too. Yeah I'm re

Wuthering High School

As I was looking up this movie to make sure that's what it's called I learned that the popular girl in the show is Francesca Eastwood. I don't know who that is but I know both of her parents! Yep Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher. Yeah she is basically Hollywood royalty, well can I still say that if Frances is British? Eh yeah sounds like she didn't live there too long and both of her parents are American. Anyway we're talking about Francesca. I'm far more interested in her personal life because she wasn't even the star in this movie but I didn't think anyone else was very good in this movie... None of these people are even listed on Wiki. James Caan is the only one I recognized. I thought it was boring and unnecessarily dramatic. I get that the story is adapted from a very popular classic book but I don't think this is how it was supposed to be told... Take away the pettiness of the characters, that might be part of the original book. But these pe

Summer 03

I found this on Amazon, I had never heard of it but it has Joey King in it so I watched it. It was pretty good. It was a typical teen drama but we all know, that is what I thrive on. I freaking love Joey and it turns out her love interest is Val Kilmer's kid so that's fun too. He was pretty good in this too. Anyway this show focuses on a 16 year old girl who's grandma drops a whole bunch of secrets on her deathbed. Fun huh! So then the whole family has to go on their own individual adventures to figure things out for themselves. Joey is half Jewish and half Christian but that apparently equals out to no church teachings but that is not what her grandma had planned so that is part of her adventure. Which is clearly the most important... But we also follow both of her parents and their drama along with her aunt and cousin. It does kind of get crazy. I think the movie is supposed to take place in 2005 so I wonder if it is based on a true story? But this also brings up my ques

Schitt'$ Creek

TV show I fought this show... I didn't understand the draw. I don't really appreciate Eugene Levy and Chris Elliot is the worst. So I didn't care about this show. But everyone loved it so when it ended I decided it was time. And I think it took me about a month to finish it and I watch TV shows kind of slowly these days... It was so good! Alexis is my queen, usually I appreciate David's humor but I think his personality woud really bother me if I was around it personally. But also it's a TV show... So not real anyway. And Catherine O'Hara! This is a side of her that I don't know but also I can't think of that many things that she has been in... Anyway this show follows a priveledged family thrown from their pedestal, forced to live in a gross hotel all together. The weird thig is that the kids are full adults, they just don't know how to act like it... Everyone on the show is a mess. Ha maybe that's why we all appreciate it. It's nice to se
