Just Between Us

Book Written by Rebecca Drake, this book is a thriller with made for movie plot. It takes place in suburban Pittsburgh and focuses on 4 moms and their families. The characters all have different personalities, jobs, and backstories but they all have kids the same age and that somehow creates their special bond. Basically if you've ever seen Desperate Housewives this book is that without the infidelity. I enjoyed reading it because it had a pretty big twist that I didn't see coming! Which is a big deal because I predict all the movies and books. It's kind of my thing. This is another Pinterest recommendation. So far these recommendations are exactly what I like to read. I don't think I've read any from this list that I haven't liked. I recommend this book if you like a twist.

Grey's Anatomy

TV show Ok since I finished the season finale I decided that I could write about this now. I started watching this show maybe 6 years ago? 5 years? Some where around there. I don't remember exactly when even though I binged watched 9 or 10 seasons in 6 months and and kept watching them when they came out weekly. I laughed, I cried, I couldn't blink sometimes because it was so intense! This is a super intense emotional show. Meredith Grey has now been practicing medicine for 14 years now! Still not the longest running tv show but definitely one of them. And there are spin off shows, Private Practice which went 6 seasons and Station 19 which got renewed for at least a second season. I still need to watch Private Practice but I loved Station 19. There are only 4 original cast members! Shonda Rhimes is the writer and creator and she is one of those people who love pushing limits and shocking people, and no one is safe from being killed off. Grey's has been through so much

We Were Liars

Book This is another book that I found from Pinterest. E. Lockhart has written many books but this is the first one like this... What started out as a bunch of grandkids of a rich businessman spending every summer on a private island with their family became a terrifying story of teenagers making dumb choices that affect the rest of their lives. I read this book in 3 days while working 10 hour days and going out at night. Meaning that not only is it so intense and hard to put down, its also an extremely easy read. Basically it took me 10 reading hours to finish the book and I loved it! The chapters were short which made me more likely to read more chapters at a time instead of watching the clock and saying I might as well not even start this chapter. I would read this book if I were you. In fact I would read it again, I liked it that much. E. Lockhart was so good at keeping us interested without giving anything away! I would read a sequel to Cady's story.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Movie This movie is the back story of Han Solo. I think this is straight up my favorite Star Wars movie. I along with many people think that Han Solo is one of the best characters in Cinema and although I think this story was written after all the others, it makes so much sense. Donald was perfect but Alden could have been better... I don't know though because Harrison Ford is iconic. I can't think think of any actor that could be him. I didn't like the love story in it because we know who Han ends up with but when Han and Chewy meet I almost cried! It was so beautiful! I loved that there were twists that I couldn't predict. Also Emilia Clarke, Paul Bettany and Woody Harrelson really added to the story and played their parts perfectly. I normally see Star Wars movies on opening night and I waited 3 whole days to watch this one but it was the first movie I've been to since the last Star Wars... So far these days I only go to Star Wars and Harry Potter because I

Gilmore Girls

TV Show In honor of June 3rd, I've decided that I needed a throwback post. I started watching Gilmore Girls when I convinced my mom to buy me the first 3 seasons on DVD for Christmas. I think they were on the 5th season by then... But I didn't care. I think I watched all  of them before I went back to school. I'm also not sure how I watched the rest since I didn't have DVR and I didn't wait until the DVDs came out... Maybe I just made sure I was home all of the time. What makes this show as good as it is, is the writing. I've seen Lauren Graham on other things and I've seen Alexis Bledel on other things and they are not the same. Lorelai is my hero because she was constantly being herself. I know it is impossible to know all of the references that they talk about and that makes a lot of people not like the show but I love it. I think of it as a game! And like other games you fall for the players! The relationships are come of my favorite that I've

Scrappy Little Nobody

Book This is basically Anna Kendrick's autobiography and while I love Anna Kendrick from Twitter and movies, I wasn't a huge fan of the book. She seemed very self-deprecating, and I hear all the time about how actors always think that their fame is just a phase and that next month it will all be over but she takes this thought and makes it so gloomy. The writing was so sarcastic that I just couldn't get into it. She does tell a lot of stories about "making it in Hollywood" but she doesn't name drop like I like. She does tell stories about being in movies with Chris Pine and George Clooney but I wanted more fun stories about getting to know people. She does talk a lot about her childhood which is fantastic and gives a ton of insight into why she is so sarcastic. Anyway, if this is your kind of book, its good but if you aren't in to celebrity authors then this is not the book to start with. I wouldn't read it again for any reason but I don't re

Black Panther

Movie I was excited for this movie because I am a huge Avengers fan and I like a lot of the actors in Black Panther, plus everyone was raving about it. Now I still liked all the characters and liked how everyone seemed natural together but I think I was too excited... This wasn't a great movie... I didn't feel like it flowed right. T'Challa was all over the place and it didn't seem realistic even in the Marvel universe. Chadwick Boseman and  Lupita Nyongo and Martin Freeman are massive movie stars right now. Danai Gurira and Sterling K. Brown are all both headlining fan favorite TV shows. And there are the classics Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. All of these guys did phenomenal! I know I didn't like Martin Freeman being American, why couldn't he have been British? In all honesty, the CIA thing could have killed the whole movie for me. It just didn't make sense to me but I think you have to watch it for Infinity War because a lot of th

Girls Night with Stephanie May Wilson

Podcast Stephanie is a christian author and blogger who also runs what she calls small groups. I don't know what they are but it sounds like some kind of bible study. I haven't really looked into the blog but the podcast was exactly what I needed when I found it. She talks to a friend of hers who also runs blogs and stuff like that. My favorite guest of hers has been Kailey Dickerson wife of country singer Russell Dickerson. Stephanie talks about a lot of topics from maintaining relationships and keeping faith when everything blows up. I was starting to forget who I was when I started listening and I'm not saying she's said anything that was life shattering but just listening to her talking about her journey made me realize that I have to get back on the right path. I wasn't lost, I just wasn't moving anywhere and Stephanie helped me see where I was going. So that being said this podcast is for christian girls who want to follow the path that God has laid

The Twilight Wife

Book I found out about this book from Pinterest and I did no research on the title before starting it. I did like this book though. It reminded me a lot of the Nicholas Sparks book/movie the Vow, but it has a very different twist. The main character is trying her hardest to remember her life post accident. The writing is better than I'm used to since its not a free book... but the thing I liked most about this book is that I didn't see the twist coming! Obviously they drop hints, but I did not see it coming until the last 2 chapters and then it doesn't draw it out either. The second to last chapter is a whirlwind but then it ends and then the last chapter is the wrap up. I didn't like the wrap up since they didn't actually finish the big part. The chapter ended and I thought it would tell us what happened next but it skipped ahead 4 days and just told us about it after the fact. And then the epilogue skipped ahead a year so the end was weird but before that was

Apology

Just me talking. I moved and I didn't have email for a couple weeks. And I was really lazy before that but just wait because I have 7 things to tell you about some time this week since I have internet now! So just wait!
