Baywatch

Movie Obviously this is based on the old school tv show and don't worry, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson have cameos. But in this version Dwayne Johnson and  Zac Efron team up to beat the bad guy... um person... Priyanka Chopra. I watched Priyanka on Quantico and loved her, she became one of my favorite actors immediately. All the characters on this show played their part perfect. I love that Dwayne Johnson is playing David's Mitch and Kelly Rohrbach plays Pam's CJ. The story line is not that great but I feel like that was kind of expected. The movie has comedic parts and the people are fun but its not the kind of movie that you would tell your parents to watch. There is a line that Priyanka says "I'm not a Bond villain...yet" That is what it is trying to be like. Basically DJ wants to be a cop instead of a lifeguard and so he has to investigate and close the case. Just like Paul Blart... This is a short one because I don't have so much to say a

Manhunt Unabomber

TV show Sam Worthington and Chris Noth make a good team in this reenactment of how the FBI caught Ted Kaczynski. The Unibomber was active for almost 20 years and for most of these years the FBI profile said the criminal had a very low IQ but that was wrong and that is why they couldn't find him.  The show is about an FBI analyst that almost goes crazy chasing this guy. David Fitzgerald was recruited to the team because he was the best in his behavioral analyst class and he was very good with words. Fitz then went on to change the profile to say that the Unibomber was well educated and over 50 based on how he wrote his manifesto. He brought in language professors to help analyse the language in the letters that the Unibomber was writing to the big newspapers. There were many words that were spelled differently then they are spelled now, not wrong just different. It is kinda of hard to understand how they figured everything out, even in the show the use of Ted's different lan

American Vandal

TV show This show is a mockumentery. It is kind of vulgar but hilarious. It's about a prank that is actually very costly. Someone at this high school spray paints "dicks" on a whole bunch of teacher's cars. They blindly accused this known prankster because he was the easy choice. So some of his classmates decide to clear his name through a documentary like Serial. It is 8 episodes of them talking to fake high school students about this fake prank. The best part is when they investigate if the star witness is really a liar. One of the teachers find someone who saw the prankster in action so they bring him to the school board to tell his story. But it turns out that this kid is just a story teller. They question 2 of the rumors that he has spread about himself and prove them both false. But that isn't enough. In the end they try to prove that Dylan (the accused) was at his girlfriend's house during the drawing which they do but it ends up breaking them up.

Stories I Only Tell My Friends - Rob Lowe

Stories I Only Tell My Friends Book This book is written by Rob Lowe and it is him telling stories. He knew John Kennedy Jr! They were friends! He has got to be one of the coolest people ever but his life was not easy. He was born in Virginia but grew up in Ohio before moving to California when he was 12. He had gotten used to Ohio and it was hard to make friends at first in California. But eventually he ran into Chris and Sean Penn and Charlie and Emilio Estevez making movies. It was perfect because they made movies and played baseball. Rob also got to meet people like Liza Minelli, John Belushi, Aaron Spelling, Bernie Brillstien (who would soon become his manager), Martin Sheen, LeVar Burton, Sarah Jessica Parker, and got to be on the set of Star Wars back when it was an "indy movie." He always had older girls chasing him too... He gets his television acting debut in a Coke commercial (I told you he was my hero) with the help of his manager who is Holly Robin

90210

90210 TV show 90210 is a revamp of Beverly Hills 90210 with Shannon Doherty, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestly, Luke Perry, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling. Which is why I watched the show originally but it was a tease. Only the girls are in the revamp and they are only in the first season. I love Kelly and I was very sad when she was gone.  Anyway this show is 5 seasons of high school drama. I love this drama but you do the math. High school only lasts four years at the most and this show (and most shows start with the sophomore year.) That means there was 2 extra years of high school drama but they talk more about how they've grown since high school. Now I am a victim of this kind of thought too. Time moves so fast that we feel like more time has passed for our lives when we don't see time passing for other people. I look at 20 year olds as kids even though they think they are adults, but i'm sure 40 year olds think of me as a kid too. But w

Dunkirk

Dunkirk                                                                               Movie Christopher Nolan really likes his actors. Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy are in everything he does. That doesn't have much to do with the movie though, just my thoughts.  Dunkirk is a city on the French Coast. I don't know how much of the war was fought in France but Wikipedia says they fought for both sides. Originally France with England declared war on Germany when Poland was invaded but France was taken over pretty early after that and France surrendered, the battle of Dunkirk happened the same month. This movie starts with soldiers on the ground in Dunkirk, pilots in the air above Dunkirk, and civilians with boats coming from England. I'll start by saying yes Harry Styles is a ground soldier but I don't think we see him until he's on a rescue boat, Tom Hardy is a pilot (I called his ending) , and Cillian (Scarecrow) is known to IMDB as shivering soldier. My

Hollywood and Crime

Hollywood and Crime Podcast I was going to wait until I finished the TV show that I'm watching to start this blog, but then I decided to listen to a newish podcast at work today. I say newish because this podcast had released a series of episodes about Charles Manson and since he died last year it was fresh on everyone's minds and therefore popular. I had also watched Aquarius with David Duchovny and King Renly (GOT) which is also about Charles. But Young Charlie is season 2 of this podcast so I chose to listen to season 1 today. The Black Dahlia is one of the most famous unsolved murders in history. Elizabeth Short was a 22 year old girl who moved to LA from Massachusetts when she was 18. She didn't work a lot and instead let men pay for her rent and clothes. She was found brutally murdered in 1947. Turns out that she was one of dozens similar killings in the same year. About half of these murders were solved but there is still suspicion that those accused are i
