Kyle Chandler (Coach Taylor of Friday Night Lights and whatever his name was in Early Edition) is the main reason I wanted to watch this show. But it also has huge names like; Ben Mendelsohn most recently of Captain Marvel and Ready Player 1 fame, Linda Cardellini from Avengers and Scooby-Doo. Fiyero from the original Broadway cast of Wicked! Chloe Sevigny is all over the place now. Sissy Spacek and Sam Shepard are classics. And Beau Bridges joins the cast later in the run. There are so many big names and great actors.
The series is about a family that ends up in a bad situation. They try so hard to get out of the situation (that they got themselves in) and that is the storyline. This show is so intense and is one of those that you never realize how much could go wrong until it does. Obviously it is not a realistic story, it's trying to dramatize a family's sense of survival. The actual story focus's on "the black sheep" of the family and everything he does that everyone else has to fix. The issue is that no one would really go that far. The "bad" brother wouldn't really be as manipulative as he is in this show, from what I've heard they usually just go off and do their drugs and come back when they need money. Also any normal family wouldn't react to their brother like he is this evil being trying to destroy the family.
I'm not going to lie, although I like all of the actors, I don't think the show is worth watching. It is a typical family drama. It's like it was trying to be a Soprano's type of show but without the crime family. Also the ending was terrible!
