Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

Movie-Netflix

This is the movie that has been talked about for about 2 year. Zac Efron playing Ted Bundy! Is he too hot, can he get the dead eyes that all psychopaths have, will we be able to ignore Zac and believe him as Ted? Lily Collins, Haley Joel Osment, Jim Parsons and John Malkovich were fun additions. I didn't even recognize Haley and John at first. Now, I've read Anne Rule's book and heard a lot of podcasts about Ted Bundy and also have done some of my own research because I live in Salt Lake City and we were the first people to catch him.

I have always been fascinated by Elizabeth Kloepfer (known as Meg Anders for a long time to protect her identity.) I used to think that she was just so beaten down that she ignored all the signs that she was basically living with a serial killer and letting her daughter be around said killer. But after years of learning, I believe that she was just honestly tricked. She was looking for the opposite of her ex-husband and Ted knew how to treat women. He had learned to be what she needed him to be. She was straight up fooled like everyone else but she herself was a strong woman who just wanted to be in love.

This movie has a weird view because it has him in prison and going through the trial and even up to the execution and then has a lot of flashbacks. It also doesn't really go into any of the murders or murdered which is were a lot of the controversy comes from. But I actually loved this portrayal because it makes Liz the most important victim. That is not to say that the possible 100 women that he killed weren't important, but I think that Liz/Meg is made to look like a weak-willed sad woman when she was not. She was mentally abused and probably physically abused. Ted getting arrested was the only way to save her too.
Karen Sparks, Lynda Ann Healy, Donna Gail Manson, Susan Elaine Rancourt, Roberta Kathleen Parks, Brenda Carol Ball, Georgann Hawkins, Janice Ann Ott, Denise Marie Naslund, Nancy Wilcox, Melissa Anne Smith, Laura Ann Aime, Debra Jean Kent, Caryn Eileen Campbell, Julie Cunningham, Denise Lynn Oliverson, Lynette Dawn Culver, Susan Curtis, Margaret Elizabeth Bowman, Lisa Levy, Karen Chandler, Kathy Kleiner, Cheryl Thomas, Kimberly Diane Leach were all murdered by Bundy. Carol DaRonch was lucky enough to escape and was a big help in catching him. I also want to name Liz Kloepfer and Carole Ann Boone as victims. Also possible victims who's cases have never been solved; Ann Marie Burr, Lisa E. Wick, Lonnie Trumball, Susan Davis, Elizabeth Perry, Rita Curran, Joyce LePage, Rita Lorraine Jolly, Katherine Merry Devine, Vicki Lynn Hollar, Brenda Joy Baker, Sandra Jean Weaver, Melanie Suzanne Cooley, Shelly Kay Robertson, Nancy Perry Baird, and Debbie Smith.
