Edith!

Podcast So apparently this is based on the true story of Woodrow Wilson while he was President of the United States! So in real life, he became President and then his wife died. And then after a little bit he met a woman Edith who was invited to the White House by a friend who just happened to be the President's cousin. Well I guess they hit it off instantly because they were married the same year and stayed married until he died. But towards the end of his second term he suffered a stroke that left him bedridden for weeks. While in bed unconscious Edith low-key took over so that the senate and cabinet wouldn't know that he was incapacitated. Now as this was in 1919, it was probably a little easier and it was only for a few weeks and then the President woke up and was fine. So, this is that story but with a comedic take. It is also star-studded. Rosamind Pike stars as Edith and Clark Gregg is Woodrow. Esther Povisky plays the best friend who introduced the couple (not a true part of the story) other famous names are Tom Amandes and Diedrich Bader. Remember it's only 8 episodes so there aren't that many characters… So this one was way better than Wanted. This is one of those moments where I'm glad that I found Wanted so that I was able to listen to this one. I thought this was the best story and the fact that it's basically true is just even better!
